Escape Seven Sisters

Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati (Assam) – Kaziranga or Kamakhya Visit

Arrive in Guwahati, Assam’s capital. If time permits, visit the sacred Kamakhya Temple or enjoy a Brahmaputra River cruise. Optionally, take a half-day trip to Kaziranga National Park (UNESCO site, known for one-horned rhinos). Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 2: Guwahati to Shillong (Meghalaya) – Umiam Lake & Local Sights

Drive to Shillong (approx. 3 hours), stopping at Umiam Lake en route. In Shillong, visit Ward’s Lake, Cathedral of Mary, and Police Bazaar. Optional: visit Don Bosco Museum. Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 3: Shillong to Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh) – Scenic Transfer

Take an early flight or drive to Tezpur and continue to Tawang, one of Arunachal’s crown jewels (via Bomdila, approx. 8–9 hrs). Marvel at the mountains, Buddhist flags, and changing terrain. Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 4: Explore Tawang – Monastery & War Memorial

Visit the majestic Tawang Monastery (largest in India), Tawang War Memorial, and Sela Pass (weather permitting). Enjoy a peaceful day soaking in Tibetan culture and Himalayan serenity. Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 5: Tawang to Kohima (Nagaland) – Cultural Stopover

Transfer to Kohima, Nagaland’s capital (flight or long drive via Dimapur). Visit the historic Kohima War Cemetery and the Naga Heritage Village at Kisama if time allows. Get a taste of Naga cuisine and culture. Overnight stay in Kohima.

Day 6: Kohima to Imphal (Manipur) – Loktak Lake

Drive or fly to Imphal, the capital of Manipur. Visit the stunning Loktak Lake, India’s only floating national park, and INA Memorial. Explore the Ima Keithel (Mother’s Market), run entirely by women. Overnight stay in Imphal.

Day 7: Imphal to Aizawl (Mizoram) – Hills & Handicrafts

Fly to Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram. Visit Solomon’s Temple, Durtlang Hills Viewpoint, and local handicraft shops. Enjoy peaceful hill station vibes and interact with warm locals. Overnight stay in Aizawl.

Day 8: Aizawl to Agartala (Tripura) – Royal Palaces & Departure

Fly or drive to Agartala, capital of Tripura. Visit the beautiful Ujjayanta Palace, Neermahal (Water Palace), or Tripura Sundari Temple (if time permits). Depart from Agartala Airport, completing your whirlwind journey across the Seven Sisters.
