Day 1: Arrival in Cochin – Drive to Kumarakom

Upon arrival at Cochin International Airport or Ernakulam Railway Station, you will be greeted by your driver and proceed to Kumarakom (approx. 2 hours). Check in to a peaceful backwater resort by the lake. Spend the day relaxing or take a walk through the nearby village. In the evening, enjoy sunset views over Vembanad Lake and unwind with optional Ayurvedic massage or canoe ride.

Day 2: Kumarakom Sightseeing

After breakfast, visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, a haven for migratory birds and a perfect spot for nature lovers. Later, enjoy a short canoe ride through the narrow canals of the village to experience local life. Optional activities include fishing, local cooking demonstrations, or a short village walk. Return to the resort and relax by the lakeside.

Day 3: Kumarakom to Alleppey – Houseboat Cruise

After breakfast, drive to Alleppey (Alappuzha) and board a traditional private houseboat by noon. Cruise through the serene backwaters, past lush paddy fields, swaying coconut palms, and small villages. All meals will be freshly prepared on board by the houseboat crew. Relax, read, or simply enjoy the views from the open deck. Watch a peaceful sunset and enjoy a candlelight dinner as the boat anchors for the night.

Day 4: Alleppey to Kuttanad – Village Exploration

After breakfast onboard, disembark and drive to the Kuttanad region, also known as the "Rice Bowl of Kerala", where farming is done below sea level. Take a country boat ride or canoe to explore the narrow canals. Witness village life, visit local homes, see toddy tapping, and interact with locals to understand their lifestyle. You can also opt to stay at a heritage homestay for a more authentic experience.

Day 5: Kuttanad to Kollam – Ashtamudi Backwaters

After breakfast, proceed to Kollam (Quilon), known for its serene Ashtamudi Lake and less-crowded backwaters (approx. 2.5 hrs drive). Check into a lake-facing resort and spend the day at leisure. You may opt for a sunset boat cruise or explore the historical Thangassery Lighthouse and beach nearby. Kollam offers a more rustic and untouched backwater vibe.

Day 6: Kollam to Cochin – Departure

After breakfast, check out and drive back to Cochin (approx. 3.5–4 hrs). Depending on your flight or train timing, you can enjoy a short visit to Fort Kochi, Jew Town, or Marine Drive for shopping and sightseeing before your onward journey. The tour ends with peaceful memories of Kerala’s magical backwaters.
